FAQ
Can I register with friends?
Yep, just create a small group while registering as a free agent and have your friends join your small group.
What type of ball do you use?
We use a padded mini volleyball. Jumps off the bat, but doesn’t sting if you get hit.
What is a "Free Agent"
A “Free Agent” is a lone player/small group of players looking for a team. Many teams need help filling their roster and they are excited for you to join their team.
Do I need a glove?
Nope, we use an oversized padded ball so there is no need for a glove.
Is there a maximum number of players on a team?
Teams we build, we try to keep the max at 15 players, but there is no max for full teams if you purchase all spots.
What do I wear?
Wear comfortable gym clothes and shoes to run in. Rubber cleats are allowed (No metal) and your team shirt.
My company wants to pay for a team, can they do this?

Some friends and I want to play together, but won’t have enough players for a full team. Can we do this?
Sure! Register as a free agent and create a “Small Group”, and name it anything you like. Have your friends join that group. Don’t worry about being transferred to a team. Your group will be combined into a team towards the close of registration.
Do I need to buy a team shirt?
Your first league shirt is included for new players. If you have played in a league before and need a new shirt of the correct color $10.
Is there an age limit to play?
Currently, we only accept players that are 21 and OVER and players MUST ACCEPT our Waiver.
How competitive is Gem City Social Sports?
We are a semi-competitive league that welcomes all skill levels. Most of us haven’t played since grade school, so let’s learn how to play together!
